Arrest made in murder of man found in Goose Creek park

Authorities in California picked up Stephon Johnson on murder charges. Authorities in California picked up Stephon Johnson on murder charges.

The man wanted for the murder of a man found in a Goose Creek park in September, is in custody.

The Goose Creek Police Department (GCPD) says, Stephon Johnson is behind bars after being picked up by authorities in California, Wednesday.

"Yesterday evening, GCPD was notified by the U.S. Marshals Service that Stephon Johnson was taken into custody without incident by U.S. Marshals in Lancaster, California", said Caption John Grainger.

Johnson is wanted by GCPD for the shooting death of William Kuhn. Children playing in Dogwood Park found Kuhn's body on September 18.

Johnson will remain in a Los Angeles County jail while he awaits an extradition hearing, that will determine when he will be brought back to South Carolina.
