Police arrest suspect for solicitation of a minor

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC -

On Wednesday October 23 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Charleston County detectives arrested Emmett Roger Craven in Charleston on two counts of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor, one count of Assault and Battery 1st Degree, and one count of Dissemination of Obscene Material to a minor.

The charges are a result into an investigation began by detectives on October 6, 2013 after the victim's parents contacted the Sheriff's Office reporting inappropriate contact by Craven and the victim on several occasions.

Craven was considered a trusted friend and occasional caregiver to the victim and a sibling.

Craven was lodged at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center after arrest and scheduled for a Bond Hearing which was held at 10 a.m. resulting in a $150,000.00 bond.
