4-day-old baby tests positive for marijuana, Myrtle Beach mom arrested

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) - A 4-day-old Myrtle Beach child tested positive for drugs in its system, a police report said.

According to Myrtle Beach Police, the Department of Social Services notified officers Wednesday that the child had marijuana in its system and the mother tested positive for the same drug.

Police arrested Chaslyn Amber Summers, 34, of Myrtle Beach and charged her with unlawful neglect of a child.  She was also charged with driving under suspension.

The infant was placed in DSS custody.

Summers is being held at the J Reuben Long Detention Center under a $12,105 bond.
