GEORGETOWN, SC -

Two men have been charged in the armed robbery of a store just outside Georgetown late last month, authorities say.

Georgetown County Sheriff's Investigators have charged Nigel Omar Vanderhorst, 26 years of age, of Brailsford Road in McClellanville, and Josh Lamar Green, 23 years of age, of Old Collins Creek Road in McClellanville for the armed robbery of Cooter's Country Store.

At approximately 10 p.m. on September 23, two (2) suspects entered Cooter's Country Store located at 3508 South Fraser Street in Georgetown and demanded money from the clerk.

The suspects took miscellaneous items and an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing in a silver in color, two-door import vehicle onto Pennyroyal Road.

Through an extensive investigation, Vanderhorst and Green were identified to be the two  suspects who entered the store, deputies said.

Vanderhorst and Green are currently being housed at the Georgetown County Detention Center on charges with another agency. Vanderhorst and Green are each charged with one count of Armed Robbery and are awaiting a bond hearing.
