Two brothers killed in Berkeley County traffic accident

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident in Berkeley County.

The accident, which left two brothers dead, happened at around 6:30 Sunday afternoon on North Hampton Street in Huger.

According to officials, a Ford Focus ran a stop sign and was then hit by another vehicle. The driver of the Ford, 23-year-old Christopher Bracewell, and the passenger, his brother 20-year-old Jonathan Bracewell, were pronounced dead on the scene. The Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury has ruled the deaths accidental with body trauma as the cause of death.

The driver of the second car and three passengers, including two minors, were transported to MUSC with unknown injuries.

All six people involved in this crash were wearing seatbelts.

This accident is still under investigation by the Berkeley County Coroner's Office and the SC Highway Patrol.
