Saturday Charleston City firefighters met to sign a consent form to take legal action against the city.

Firefighters asked News 2 to leave and not show faces on-camera because they fear the unknown repercussions of this suit.

However, it's clear on the consent form that they plan to take collective action against the city, stating they have claims to unpaid overtime and liquidated damages.

Earlier this week News 2 asked city's Chief Financial Officer, Stephen Bedard, about this lawsuit.

"I'm really not involved in that and that's just where I need to leave that," he said.

That lawsuit has not yet been filed as firefighters tell News 2 that it's still being drafted by the attorneys.
