Posted: Updated:

A hunter, who went missing in the Francis Marion Forest in Berkeley County overnight, was recently released from the hospital.

William Pitchers said he knew he was in trouble when it became cold an windy and he began to fall asleep. He told News 2 he will continue to hunt, but always with a buddy.

Rescue crews said Pitchers went out into the woods Thursday night, but never returned home.

The 67-year-old man went deer hunting around 10:00 p.m., and authorities say he fell and hit his head. He became disoriented, and did not know where he was.

He reportedly walked around until about 1:00 a.m. and crews found him Friday morning after launching a search at daybreak.

We'll have more on this story tonight on News 2 at 5:00 and 6:00.
