NORTH CHARLESTON, SC -

Boeing is scheduled to break ground on another new plant in South Carolina.

The aeronautics company says it's breaking ground on Tuesday on its new propulsion facility in North Charleston to make engine components for the company's 737 Max aircraft.

The new facility is located near to the company's plant that assembles Boeing's 787 Dreamliner.

The company doesn't discuss investment numbers for specific projects.

But a spokesman says the new plant is included in Boeing's announcement earlier this year that it will invest more than $1 billion, creating 2,000 more jobs in South Carolina during the next eight years.

Boeing's South Carolina manufacturing complex now employs about 6,000 workers.
