Cross Health Clinic to get needed new facilities

Posted: Updated:

In rural Berkeley County, there is a doctor who has been putting his heart and soul into helping those in need for more than 10 years.

At the Cross Health Clinic on Highway 6, Dr. Edward Rojugbokan is a hero. For the past 14 years, he has treated the medical needs of many in Cross.

The current clinic has two exam rooms and very little space. It is basically a hallway with several small rooms on either side.

For the past 7 years, members of the community have been looking for funding, including holding fundraiser's, for a new clinic. Two weeks ago, they broke ground for a new facility, just down the street from the current office.

Dr. Rojugbokan says the facility, and the people, are worth it. "The people out here spend time to actually get to know you. They do appreciate the help, and the need is really very great."

The new clinic is expected to open within the next year.
