Highway 17 is open again in both directions.

Mount Pleasant police closed the highway Wednesday morning after a transformer on the power pole at Shellmore Blvd. blew.

Power appears to be restored to those affected.

Gusty winds continue across the area in the wake of a strong front that moved through overnight.
