Mt. Pleasant police searching for suspect following accident

MT. PLEASANT, SC -

One person led Mt. Pleasant police on a chase after a single-car accident on Highway 17.

Charleston County Dispatch said the accident happened near the old Wal-Mart on Highway 17. After the accident, officials said the suspect fled the scene.

Mt. Pleasant police used the K-9 unit to find the suspect.

Officials did say the accident involved injuries, but there is no word on the extent of those injuries.

The suspect has been taken to a detention center
