Police arrest Summerville bank robbery suspect in Massachusetts

SUMMERVILLE, SC - Police have arrested 28-year-old Brian Stephen Dyer in connection with the December 23 TD Bank robbery in Summerville.

An investigation into the December 23 armed robbery led detectives to identify Dyer as a suspect.  Authorities believed Dyer left the Lowcountry soon after the robbery for either Rhode Island or Massachusetts.

Investigators were able to locate Dyer in the Seekonk, Massachusetts area.  The SEMLEC (Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council) SWAT team, with the assistance of the Seekonk, MA. Police Department and the FBI were able to take Dyer into custody at approximately 3:39 a.m. New Year's Day.

Dyer has been booked in the New Bedford House of Corrections on a $1 million cash bond awaiting extradition to Dorchester County.

    Charleston County detectives are investigating an apparent stabbing that on Johns Island at around 11:30 Friday night. According to deputies, 41-year-old Juan Ramos, is accused of stabbing his roommate in his side. The roommate was treated for his injuries.Deputies found Ramos with blood on his hands and his jeans.
