CHARLESTON, SC -

A winter storm will impact the Palmetto State this week.  All types of precipitation are likely to occur with mainly rain and freezing rain expected in the Lowcountry.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for virtually all of South Carolina except for the immediate coastal counties.  Berkeley, Colleton, Dorchester, and Williamsburg counties could see significant accumulations of ice beginning late Tuesday night through Thursday morning.

Along the immediate coast just a cold rain is expected at this time, however, all residents of lower South Carolina should monitor this storm's progression across the region closely.  Only slight changes in track or intensity could have major implications.
