Winter Watch: Driving the Icy Ravenel Bridge

CHARLESTON, SC - This is a story you will see only on News 2.

Storm Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Rob Fowler had the chance to ride the closed and icy Ravenel Bridge with Mt. Pleasant Police. 

It was a good way to get insight into the reasons for closing the bridge, and to actually see how hazardous driving can be on ice. 

At the top of the bridge was ice close to 2 inches thick, with a glaze lining the median just about the entire length of the bridge.
