CARY, N.C. -

Police are investigating a homicide in a Cary apartment complex Sunday morning involving two brothers.

Officers were dispatch to the 2100 block of Talking Rock Drive in the Bexley at Weston apartment complex around 8:47 a.m. Sunday in response to a shooting.

When they arrived, they found 44-year-old Mark Gregory Bodden dead from multiple gunshot wounds. His brother, 54-year-old Kevin Leroy Bodden, had fled the scene but was later located in Durham and arrested on charges of first-degree murder.

Town of Cary spokeswoman Susan Moran said their mother called 911. She told the 911 operator that Kevin Bodden was angry because Mark Bodden said he didn't have any money to give him to go to the store.

"This is an awful tragedy for the Bodden family, and we hope everyone will keep them in their thoughts as they work through this terrible ordeal," said Town of Cary Police Captain Don Hamilton.

Kevin Bodden had been staying for the last several months with his brother and mother at their apartment apartment, Moran said.

Cary's last murder occurred on May 8, 2013 when Dottie Delaney Amtey, 61, strangled her husband, Sharad Amtey, 77.
