One person transported to hospital after house fire in West Ashley

One person was taken to the hospital Tuesday night after a house fire in West Ashley.

According to officials with Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch, the fire began around 9:00 p.m. Monday in the 2400 block of Menola Avenue. First responders reported flames coming from the roof of the home.

Crews from the St. Andrews Fire Department, along with responders from the Charleston Fire Department reported to the scene.

A spokesman with the Charleston Fire Department said there is no word yet on the injured person's condition.
