Closings and cancellations February 13 due to winter weather

CHARLESTON, SC -

A winter storm continues to impact South Carolina and the Lowcountry with more closings and cancellations as a result of the weather.

Officials encouraging motorists to stay off roads and prepare for power outages

Below are the closings and cancellations for Thursday Feb . 13 as a result of the winter weather:

School districts:

  • Berkeley County School District teachers are to report for workday
  • Charleston County School District schools are open Friday
  • Dorchester District 2 Schools closed for students; teachers report
  • Dorchester County District 4 schools closed Friday

Closures in alphabetical order:

  • Addlestone Hebrew Academy closed Thursday Feb 13.
  • Art Institute opens at Noon Thursday Feb 13.
  • Ashley Hall, 2 hour delayed schedule
  • Charleston Baptist preschool closed Thursday
  • Charleston Collegiate school closed Thursday
  • Charleston Southern University closed Thursday Feb 13.
  • The Children's Center at Carolina Park will be closed Thursday.
  • The Citadel will be closed Thursday
  • Claflin University Closed Thursday Due to Inclement Weather
  • Colleton County School District will be closed Feb 13
  • Colleton Prep will be CLOSED Thursday, February 13, 2014.
  • Dorchester Academy closed Thursday Feb 13
  • Dorchester Childrens center closed Thursday
  • First Baptist School in downtown Charleston will be closed on Thursday, February 13, 2014.
  • First Klass Early Childhood Learning Center, opening at 10 A.M. Thursday
  • Gateway Academy in Summerville and Mt Pleasant closed Feb 13
  • Hope's Treasure Chest Child Development Center on  James Island, will be closed Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 
  • James Island Christian School closed Thursday Feb 13
  • Joint Base Charleston delayed until 10:00a.m.
  • Lowcountry Leadership charter schools closed Thursday
  • Metabolic Medical Center will be on a 2 hour delay, opening at 10:00a.m. Thursday.
  • MUSC closings see below*
  • Northwood Academy (Upper School, Lower School, and Pre-school) will be closed on Thursday, February 13.
  • The Pinewood Preparatory Schooll campus will be closed Thurs., Feb. 13.
  • Ridge Christian Academy closed Thursday.
  • Summerville Baptist Preschool; closed Friday due to power outage
  • Time to Grow Montessori Academy, opening at 10 A.M. Thursday
  • Trident Technical College Campuses (ALL campuses) closed Thursday.
  • Trident Academy will be closed Thursday Feb 13 
  • Toddlers Academy & preschool childcare closed Thursday
  • Van Buren Academy; closed Thursday Feb 13
  • Village Square Childcare closed Thursday Feb 13
  • Williamsburg County Schools will be closed Thursday Feb 13.

*MUSC closures:
All MUSC hospitals remain open and under normal operation.
All MUSC classes, academic activities and offices, including dental clinics, are closed.  Only pre-approved, designated employees should report to work. 
All downtown MUSC clinics and MUSC Family Medicine on James Island under normal operation.
MUSC Physicians Primary Care offices will open at noon for staff and patient appointments begin at 1 p.m.  
MUSC Physicians Specialty Clinics in Mount Pleasant, West Ashley and North Charleston will open at noon for staff and patient appointments begin at 1 p.m.
MUSC Children's Hospital After Hours Care clinics under normal operation.
