Fire crews respond to Gilligan's restaurant on Johns Island

The cause of a fire at Gilligan's Seafood Restaurant on Johns Island is under investigation, after crews responded to the restaurant early Tuesday morning.

Charleston County dispatch tells News 2 that the Charleston Fire Department, St. Andrew's Fire Department, & St. Johns Fire Department responded to the restaurant just after 1:30 a.m.

Main Road was blocked off for close to four hours while crews fought the fire at the restaurant that is at 160 Main Road, just off of Highway 17.

There is no word yet on what started the fire, or if there are any injuries.
