CHARLESTON, SC - Police have confirmed that the downtown courthouse is all clear after a bomb threat closed the building earlier Monday morning.

According Charleston County Police around 11 a.m. police received a call about an explosive device inside of a white van parked in front of the post office on Broad Street.

Police closed Broad Street downtown to all traffic.  The courthouse building at 100 Broad Street was evacuated as the Charleston County Bomb Unit canvassed the building.

The bomb threat delayed the trial of Chris Latham.  Monday morning just as a witness took the stand the judge halted court, spoke with a U.S. Marshal then everyone was evacuated from the building.

This is third week but only the 8th day of court in murder-for-hire case involving former Bank of America Executive Chris Latham and his Girlfriend Wendy Moore both are facing felony murder racketeering charges. It's alleged they developed a scheme to have Chris's then wife Nancy killed.

The Judge said threat has nothing to do with the current Latham trial.
