Posted: Updated:

Chad Cannon, 29, from Conway, is at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center charged with 8 counts of attempted murder. He's also charged with possession of firearms and ammunition as well as possession and manufacturing of drugs.

Cannon reportedly shot at police as they entered his house to serve a search warrant February 27. Drug enforcement officers were executing a search warrant at an address on Adrian Highway for a drug investigation, according to Horry County police report.

Agents reportedly knocked on the front door several times and announced "police search warrant". They also wore vests clearly marked POLICE. When there was no answer they forced their way inside.

Cannon was taken into custody. Agents found a female in the house as well but no word on her connection.
