Weather forces baseball games to be postponed

March 7th, 2014 -

Friday's South Carolina-Brown baseball game has been postponed due to inclement weather.  It has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. at Carolina Stadium. The second game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 45 minutes following the conclusion of the first game.

Both games will be nine innings. Tickets for both Friday and Saturday's games will be honored for both games. Season ticket holders attending both games are asked to bring both tickets to the stadium.  Fans with tickets to only Friday's game may stay for the second contest in the standing room only sections.  Fans with tickets to only Saturday's originally scheduled game may come for the first game of the doubleheader and watch the game in the standing room only sections as well.  The stadium will not be cleared in between games.

No. 29 College of Charleston (10-2) will travel across town for a newly scheduled non-conference rivalry series with The Citadel (6-7) from Saturday to Monday.

The series, originally scheduled to start on Friday, will run from Saturday to Monday with two games at The Citadel's Riley Park sandwiching a Sunday matinee at Patriots Point. Despite a tradition of non-conference midweek games, this weekend marks the first time that the two teams have ever played a non-conference weekend series as the College of Charleston moved to the CAA this year.
