CHARLESTON, SC - Participants have crossed the finish line for the 37th Annual Cooper River Bridge Run.

Julian Smith, Executive Director of The Cooper River Bridge Run announced that nearly 40,000 participants successfully crossed the Arthur Ravenel Bridge from Mount Pleasant to downtown Charleston at the 37th Annual Cooper River Bridge Run that was held this morning on April 5, 2014. The award-winning 10K Race/Walk kicked off with the wheelchair division, followed by elite runners and 11 corrals of runners and walkers.

On behalf of the Bridge Run, we are excited to give you the top prize winners, the wheelchair division winner, and the male and female with the best time:


1st Place - $10,000 Prize -  Birhan Nebebew - Ethiopia - 28:38.70
2nd Place - $3,000 Prize - Mourad Marofit - Morocco - 28:41.70
3rd Place - $1,500 Prize - Julius Kogo - Kenya - 28:46.05
4th Place - $1,000 Prize - Belete Assefa - Ethiopia - 28:57.23
5th Place- $800 Prize - Aschalew Meketa - Ethiopia - 29:07.89
6th Place - $600 Prize - Simon Ndirangu - Kenya - 29:12.30
7th Place - $500 Prize - Cleophas Ngetich - Kenya - 29:13.82
8th Place -$400 Prize - Ayele Feisa - Ethiopia - 29:16.73
9th Place - $300 Prize - Elijah Karanja - Kenya - 29:24.65
10th Place - $250 Prize - Haile Mengesha - Ethiopia - 29:30.20
Male Wheelchair Winner - Terry Hamilin Mobility Impaired Award - Jose Pulido - Clarkesville, GA - 30:23.22
Female Wheelchair Winner - Terry Hamilin Mobility Impaired Award - Cassie Mitchell - Atlanta, GA - 43:14.17
