"For the Exceptional" boutique for special needs students in underway

Posted: Updated:
Charleston - "For The Exceptional" announced they will be hosting the 3nd Annual, "A Very Special Prom" on May 10th.

A Very Special Prom is an opportunity for young adults with special needs to experience a formal prom, created with their needs in mind.

This prom serves students in the Charleston Area, ages 14-24, whose physical and mental disabilities may limit their attendance and active involvement in their local high school prom, as well as other social activities.

In 2012, "For The Exceptional" worked with 11 schools and had nearly 100 participants, this year they are aiming to impact even more exceptional young adults in the Charleston community.

"For the Exceptional" boutique started today, April 10th and runs through April 12th. They provide special need students from local schools with gently used prom attire, provided by the community.

"For The Exceptional" is a Charleston grown Non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing interactive social outlets to children and young adults with disabilities. Additionally, we provide their parents and our communities with information, support, and assistance. For more about how to sign someone up for "A Very Special Prom", click here.
