DILLON COUNTY, SC (WBTW) - The Dillon County sheriffs office is investigating a murder. It happened at about 11 p.m. Monday at the 20/20 convenience store, located at 2402 Highway 9 E. in the Riverdale community of Dillon County.

According to Capt. Cliff Arnette, two male clerks were leaving the store after it closed when they were approached by two individuals.  Capt. Arnette said robbery was the motive but it's unclear what was taken.

Authorities do not have descriptions of the individuals yet but we do know that one of the store clerks was shot in the upper body and died from his injuries. The other store clerk was not injured. Authorities say it's not clear whether the suspects took off in a car or on foot.
