Berkeley County carpenter robbed of $25,000 in tools

A Berkeley County man had his trailer, full of all of the tools he needs to operate his business, stolen at some point over the weekend.

Hucks Construction is in the process of renovating a house in the Fairlawn subdivision.

On Friday afternoon after the day's work was done, Wayne Hucks and his crew closed up their work trailer and went home for the weekend.

When they drove up Monday, the trailer was no longer in the driveway, and some $25,000 worth of tools and equipment were gone.

Hucks says this is his family's business, and he needs those tools to complete jobs. He plans to rebuild his tool inventory over the next year or two as he saves extra money.

If you have any information about the trailer, or any other stolen trailers in Berkeley County, please contact the Berkeley County sheriffs office by calling Crimestoppers at 843-554-1111.
