Former College of Charleston professor charged with sexually assaulting two minors

CHARLESTON, SC - Authorities have charged former College of Charleston professor, Lazaro Vega-Sanabria, with criminal sexual conduct and two counts of 1st degree assault and battery.

According to reports, one victim says his adoptive father, Vega-Sanabria, had molested him and his brother.  Both boys were in the process of being adopted by the suspect.

Both victim's told police they had been touched inappropriately by their adoptive father and that while he was molesting them he was also making notes.

The Department of Social Services immediately removed both children from the home.

Vega-Sanabria was given a $30,000 bond.

His lawyer says in a press release that Vega-Sanabria "vehemently denies any wrongdoing and criminal acts alleged by these brothers" and that he has an unblemished criminal record and work history.
