Downtown streets closed after Sunday morning fire

Beaufain Street and Ashley Avenue are closed while crews clean up after a Sunday morning apartment fire.

One person is suffering from minor burns while all other occupants escaped without injury.

Crews from three different fire departments responded to 124 Beaufain Street this morning around 3:35.

Firefighters are still on scene. They tell News 2 the fire is nearly out and the investigation as to what caused the fire will now begin.

Charleston dispatch also said that the Red Cross is there to aid.
