GREER, S.C. -

The bomb squad was called to the BMW facility in Greer for what turned out to be a water purification tank, according to officials.

Spartanburg County deputies say they were alerted to a 45-55 gallon drum containing a "chloride granulated bomb" next to a silver Crown Victoria in Lot D of the west entrance to the plant.  They later found out the container was a water purification tank.

Investigators say an employee left the water purification system, which is used for a pool, and failed to notify security.

The employee will not face charges, according to the sheriff's office.

Multiple fire departments, a haz-mat team and other support personnel responded.  Employees were not evacuated, but were moved to a different area of the plant.

Officials tell us there was never any danger.
