Arielle Whooley grew up just outside of Boston, Mass. She was bit with the weather bug at a young age and could almost always be found outside tracking weather or inside watching the local meteorologist on TV. A fear of thunderstorms prompted Arielle to follow her dreams of studying meteorology.
A historical tornado touched down in western Massachusetts in June of 2011, this lit the fire for Arielle in enroll into the University of Massachusetts Lowell meteorology program. With the hopes to learn all there was to know about weather to help keep everyone in the path of any storm safe.
After graduation Arielle headed north to join the weather team at WABI in Bangor, Maine. After two and half years of covering everything from heat waves to blizzards, she is excited to see what the Lowcountry has in store. Arielle Whooley joined the Storm Team 2 in October of 2017. When not working Arielle loves to get outside and enjoy sunshine or taking her dog for a run. Not known for her cooking skills she also love checking out a new local restaurant and is very excited for some good southern food. Sunday you can catch her watching football, Patriots football that is.
