Hanna joined WCBD as a reporter in December 2019 covering breaking news stories including Presidential and Vice Presidential visits, Democratic Presidential Debates, the Coronavirus Pandemic and social unrest.
In November of 2020, she shifted gears as she was promoted to join the weekday morning team as Traffic Anchor and News 2 Midday Anchor. Hanna is thrilled to be gaining experience from a new perspective with a goal of continuing to find fresh ways of keeping Lowcountry residents engaged in their local communities.
Hanna is a Washington, D.C. native who made her way down south to attend the University of South Carolina on an athletic scholarship. Relishing in her time as a Gamecock, Hanna graduated Magna cum laude with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She was a four-year lettered Varsity Equestrian, active in student government as a member of the student body president’s cabinet and is an alumnus of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Hanna considers herself lucky to have found such a fabulous place to live and work. Over the years her reporting has taken her from Washington D.C. to Sarasota, FL and so many places in between, allowing her to connect with many wonderful people. “Everything is local” is her mantra and she is grateful to bring that to life in Charleston.
Outside of work, Hanna is passionate about animal welfare, fitness and lifelong friendships. She loves welcoming her family to Charleston for visits and showing them all her favorite locales.
Off duty, you might find her out on the water or enjoying a game of tennis, always with a four-legged-friend nearby. She remains steadfast in her desire to experience everything that Lowcountry life has to offer!
