Hanna assumed the role of Morning Anchor in February of 2022. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue living in Charleston while reporting and covering daily life for viewers across the Lowcountry.
Prior to this post, Hanna was the morning Traffic Anchor and Midday Anchor. In that role, she was able to solidify her commitment to the Low Country’s animal shelters with ongoing adoption segments and the yearly “Clear the Shelters” initiative. In addition, she reported on more serious issues impacting the community such as crime on King Street and local elections.
Hanna joined WCBD as a reporter in 2019 covering breaking news stories including Presidential and Vice Presidential visits, Presidential Debates, the Coronavirus Pandemic and social unrest.
Hailing from Washington, DC, Hanna made her way down south to attend the University of South Carolina on an athletic scholarship. Relishing in her time as a Gamecock, Hanna graduated Magna cum laude with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She was a four-year lettered Varsity Equestrian, active in student government as a member of the student body president’s cabinet and is an alumnus of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Off duty, it is no surprise that Hanna’s shelter pups and horse are a priority. However, you will also see her out with friends and family seeking every opportunity to connect with others in the Low Country to experience firsthand what makes life here so special!
