Temple Ricke

Growing up in Southern Indiana, Temple attended New Albany High School and began her broadcasting career with the nations first high school radio station, 88.1 WNAS. As a three-sport athlete with a passion for reporting, Temple was selected to be the “voice of the bulldogs”… a play-by-play announcer for men’s basketball.

Temple went on to attend Western Kentucky University (Go Tops!) in the fall of 2014 where she began anchoring and reporting for two Emmy award-winning programs, The Extra Point and News Channel 12. Temple stayed busy by interning for WAVE-3 Sports in Louisville, Westwood One Sports radio in NYC, and by being an elected senator for the Student Government Association, a member of the University Athletic Committee, and by being selected President of her sorority, Chi Omega.

Temple went on to graduate with a degree in Broadcast News and Sales Marketing but her collegiate career was cut short when she had the opportunity to graduate early and accept her first “grown-up” position as a production’s associate for NBC’s broadcast of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. After returning, Temple was thrilled to accept a Reporter/MMJ position at WCBD in June of 2018 and move to the great state of South Carolina. Being the youngest of five children, Temple fell in love with Gamecock football from a young age when her oldest sister began school at USC in 2006.

Fun fact… Steve Spurrier Jr. went on to join the coaching staff at Western Kentucky University Temple’s senior year of college.

In her free time, Temple enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching nexflix, and staying active through running and crossfit. Her favorite foods include shrimp, chocolate, pickles, and philly cheesesteaks and when she’s not at the station you can probably find her on the beach.
