CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Heart disease is the number one killer of women. That’s why the American Heart Association is hoping mothers, sisters, and friends will come together to raise awareness next week during the Go Red Luncheon.
The annual luncheon is in support of Go Red for Women, a national initiative from the American Heart Association to raise awareness of heart disease & stroke as the number one killer of women. Go Red for Women is designed to empower women to take charge of their health and collectively wipe out heart disease and stroke.
The event will kick-off with a wellness expo, silent auction and fashion show with clothes from Tres Carmen Boutique.
It includes a seated lunch and keynote address from University of South Carolina First Lady Patricia Moore Pastides. National sponsor CVS Health will also provide health screenings to attendees.
