2019 Windjammer Polar Plunge for Special Olympics

ISLE OF PALMS, SC (WCBD) – The 4th annual Polar Plunge benefitting the South Carolina Special Olympics is happening this weekend at the Windjammer on the Isle of Palms!

Registration opens at 10:30 a.m., followed by music by the Trampus Hoover Band.

There will be plenty of door prizes, awards and a performance by the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department Unified Hip Hop Dance Team, “Swagger”.

After that, participants will head to the beach for the chilly plunge around noon.

The event is free, but those who raise or donate $50 will receive a Polar Plunge t-shirt, door prize tickets, and food & beverage tickets.

All proceeds from the event benefit more than 28,000 South Carolina Special Olympic athletes.

Count on 2 has formed a team to take the dip and are accepting donations right now.
