Three Lowcountry restaurants have a C on the front door this week, but these are the situations where you need to read beyond the sticker on the door. All three scored better than 90% on their inspection.
UPDATE: After filing this story, DHEC went back to Red's Ice House on Shem Creek for a follow-up inspection on March 6, two days after the initial routine inspection and dropped their grade again. This time to a "C", despite getting a 92% on the inspection report
Looking through the inspections over the last week there are plenty of *A" grades handed out by Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) inspectors who visited scores of restaurants across the area.
