Hunt, Hook & Cook: Berkeley bass fishing team to nationals

Hunt Hook & Cook

Berkeley High School has a competitive bass fishing team, and one pair qualified to compete at the Mossy Oak Fishing Bassmaster High School National Championship in Paris, TN.

Cole Metts and Grant Lusk, a junior and senior won second in the South Carolina state tournament to advance to nationals.

The duo had to place first or second in that tournament and only missed out on first by a couple of ounces.

Cole and Grant have been fishing and competing together for almost all of high school, and they say that they get along great and only get frustrated if they lose a fish, understandably.

Berkeley High’s bass fishing head coach is George Brittle, and he explained that the team needs some fundraising help in order to afford for Grant and Cole to actually get to and stay at the national fishing tournament.

To help with fundraising call 843-899-8800 and ask for George Brittle.
