17-year-old identified as victim in North Charleston shooting


NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — The Charleston County Coroner’s Office released the identity of the person found dead in North Charleston, Wednesday evening.

Deputy Coroner Sheila Williams says Amarai Roper Smalls, 17, of North Charleston was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.

On October 26, officers responded to the 2600 block of Ranger Drive in reference to a body being discovered.

Deomontae Wallace, 17, of North Charleston and a 15-year-old are charged in connection with the shooting.
