One year later, this Sunday marks one year since Ariel Morgan was gunned down at a block party in Berkeley County. With no suspects, SLED is now assisting in the case.

June 7, 2014 authorities say 6 people were shot, and 7 guns were used. College student Ariel Morgan gunned down after multiple shots were fired at a block party in the Long Ridge Community.

Her mother Kendra Morgan-Stevens has kept Ariel’s room the same. Shortly after her daughter was killed, she found an essay Ariel had written on gun violence. It stated that she was firmly against gun violence. Her mother says reading that was “sad and very powerful.”

Kendra Morgan-Stevens, “It’s changed my life because.. I’m one less of a child, and not hearing the word mommy, from your daughter.. is just a hurtful feeling.”

This Sunday June 7, 2015 is “Princess Ariel Morgan Day,” proclaimed by Berkeley County. The lead investigator in the case tells News 2, they hope it will bring more attention the case, leading to a suspect.

If you have any tips in the case, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers or SLED at 554-1111
