Drivers should expect traffic changes as Mt. Pleasant prepares for Bridge Run

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Motorists should be aware of a slightly different traffic pattern in Mount Pleasant ahead of the Cooper River Bridge Run.

Starting line construction is underway on Coleman Boulevard near Simmons Street which means drivers should expect some delays.

Police say a temporary lane shift is also underway on Coleman as crew’s complete set-up and safety preparations for the big race.

On Saturday, police will close Ben Sawyer at Chuck Dawley to Coleman Blvd. at Hibben Street at 3:00 a.m.

West Coleman Blvd. at Magrath Darby to Coleman Blvd. at Hibben St. will close at 6:00 a.m.

The pedestrian lane of the Ravenel Bridge will close at 6:30 a.m. and both north southbound lanes of the bridge will close shortly after at 7:00 a.m.
