Charity holds mini telethon with News 2 to benefit Lowcountry children

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – On Tuesday, June 21, 2016, the Carolina Children’s Charity (CCC) Mini Telethon will be held to to benefit Lowcountry children with birth defects and childhood diseases.

Carolina Children’s Charity was organized in 1987.

One of the unique aspects of the local charity is that “All Money Raised Here Stays Here and every dollar makes a difference in the life of a Lowcountry child.”

For the past 29 years, CCC has been supported by local firefighters, local businesses and the generosity of our community.

This priceless support has allowed the charity to award over $4.1 million to thousands of Lowcountry children diagnosed with a birth defect or childhood disease.

The mission of CCC is a tender and compassionate one as our local nonprofit is the answer for families when there is no one else to help.

This unique charity provides grants for items or services that are medically beneficial or medically necessary to the special children in our community.

Each item or service requested requires the support of a medical doctor. With rising healthcare costs and a decrease in healthcare benefits, families request the charity’s help to assure the needs of their children can be met.
