Charleston icon, Irish singer Steve Carroll dies at age 69

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Christopher Stephen Carroll, 69, of West Ashley passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016.

Best known as “Steve,” Carroll has been a major icon in South Carolina’s Irish community.

Steve was a well-known fixture at Tommy Condon’s Irish Pub & Seafood Restaurant in Downtown Charleston.

He sang there with his band “Steve Carroll and the Bograts” for several years, up until his passing.

He lived in Charleston for 28 years.

His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m at Stuhr’s West Ashley Chapel.
