MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) — As Hurricane Matthew moves closer to the Lowcountry, News 2 will provide you with updates on closings, cancellations, and delays due to the storm. Forecasters predict the hurricane will move near or along South Carolina’s coast late Friday into early Saturday as a category 4 storm.
According to Georgetown County officials, the Georgetown bridges will not close, except in cases of structural damage or if there is a wreck or other incident that requires emergency responders to close lanes temporarily while they clear the scene. Lane reversals were removed on I-26 at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning.
