CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Some people in Charleston County are complaining about issues with the Charleston County School District (CCSD) school buses, and it’s only been three days since the school year started.
A student with special needs was stranded for two hours, due to a bus breakdown, according to Andy Pruitt, CCSD Director of Communications and Technology.
In addition, students at St. James Santee Elementary have to catch the bus at 5:41 a.m. because it is a rural area. CCSD officials say the early call time is due to bus drivers needing to ensure the students in those areas can arrive at school on time, but it poses some difficulties to students. Pruitt confirms changes in pick-up times are not expected any time soon.
