Carolina Voyager Charter School in West Ashley is our Cool School of the week.

Now in their fourth year, Carolina Voyager Charter School serves children from all across Charleston county. CVCS  has a diverse student body of 247 students in kindergarten through  fifth grade.  They will add an additional grade every year and will eventually serve up to the 8th grade level. School leader Dr. Harry Walker says the school is small by design.  He says, “Even though we have nine grades, we’re still a small school,  and one of the things we pride ourselves on is  our sense of community. Everybody knows each other.  It’s a great environment for kids to grow up and learn together.”

Personalized learning is the cornerstone of  their approach to education.  Social emotional learning is an important component of  the school’s program.
