Cool School Teacher: Mrs. Alli Spagnolia

Cool School

Alli Spagnolia, a kindergarten teacher at Hanahan Elementary in Berkeley county is our Cool School Teacher of the week.

Alli Spagnolia, knew she wanted to be a teacher since she was a little girl, in fact she set up a classroom in her cousin’s bedroom and played school when she was a child.  Now her love and passion for teaching is changing lives every day.

Mrs. Alli Spagnolia has been in the classroom 15 years.  She’s from Hanahan and is a product of Hanahan schools.  Now she gets to teach in her hometown.  She says she tries to make learning fun and exciting for her students every day through hands on experiences.  She says one of her favorite things about teaching is that she has an inclusive classroom with students with special needs.  “I have wanted to teach ever since I was a little girl, but I really just wanted to change the world.  Everyday teaching there are hard days, but with these little ones, you see things everyday that really are changing the world.  Even at this age, they learn to include each other and accept each other, and it’s really special to see that,” says Spagnolia.  Kindergarten student Bella Rafferty says, “She’s funny, and because she teaches really good and nice and she treats us like we’re family.” Bella’s mother Heather Parks says, “She goes above and beyond for all of her students. She loves her students just like they are her own.  She has done so much for my child specifically and has made kindergarten not a scary place, but a safe place”

Mrs. Spagnolia says she feels she has been given one of the greatest Blessings to be able to impact students lives.  Congratulations Mrs. Alli Spagnolia.
