Lowcountry man charged with criminal sexual conduct involving children

HOLLY HILL, SC (WCBD) – Authorities in Orangeburg County say a man has been arrested on multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct involving children.

An incident report released by the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office shows 63-year-old Johnny Bruce Jamison assaulted a minor by “penetrating the victim’s mouth with his tongue.”

The report says that the victim was only 6-years-old.

Investigators have been looking for Jamison since 2018 when a woman first reported a sexual assault on two small children.

A media release Wednesday said the woman was collecting two children at a home in Orangeburg County when she confronted a man exiting the children’s room.

The children later told the woman Jamison touched them inappropriately.

According to an incident report, after an hours-long search for the man, the woman said Jamison was confronted and admitted he was wrong.

“This individual is a registered sex offender who assaulted these innocent victims,” said Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell. “These are despicable acts by this individual and we’re prosecuting him to the fullest the law will allow. ”

Jamison has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and for failing to register as a sex offender.

Bond was denied on his criminal sexual conduct charges during a hearing Monday. He was given a $10,000 surety bond on the failure to register charge.
