CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – The man charged with kidnapping a young Johns Island girl is expected to be sentenced on Tuesday.
The federal government is asking for a life sentence in the Thomas Evans case.
Evans told investigators he kidnapped a 4-year-old from her Johns Island home in February 2018 after brutally assaulting her mother.
It happened days after Evans’ finished serving a ten-year sentence for a 2009 burglary and armed robbery.
He also admitted to killing a woman in the upstate before heading to the Lowcountry.
