Dancing Stormtrooper brings joy to Colorado Springs corner

A sign twirling sensation is spreading joy in a galaxy not so far, far away.

This story started with a FOX21 viewer sending in video of a dancing Stormtrooper just west of Platte Avenue and Chelton Road. FOX21 posted it on social media, and it has thousands of views and shares.

FOX21 caught up with the man behind the mask about his internet fame.

“It makes me feel good,” Jimmy Gomez-Beisch said. “It hits you right here. You know, that I’m just having fun.”

The sign-twirling sensation keeps warm with his spicy moves.

“It might be 19 degrees out here, but in here, I’m 101 baby,” Gomez-Beisch said. “I’m a hot one!”

He’s sending smiles down Platte Avenue and across the universe.

“That’s the love I get all day!” Gomez-Beisch said. “From people I know, from people I don’t know.”

You can catch Gomez-Beisch, the dancing Stormtrooper, in the same spot every day except Thursday.

“You know, dance-offs, I love it,” Gomez-Beisch said. “If you want to have a one-on-one tango, cha-cha, you want to just go ahead and make a snowman, come out here, let’s have some fun. That’s what I’m all about. Bring the kids!”
