Funeral arrangements set for “Tony the Peanut Man”

North Charleston, SC (WCBD) – Funeral arrangements are now set for a Charleston icon.

The visitation for Anthony Cephus Wright, also known as “Tony the Peanut Man” will be held Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Royal Missionary Baptist Church located at 4761 Luella Ave.

The home going service honoring his life will take place on Wednesday, November 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Mr. Wright will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens in North Charleston following the service.

“Tony the Peanut Man” passed away at his home Tuesday, November 22 of natural causes. He was 63 years old.

Earlier this year, he revealed he was living myotonic muscular dystrophy and fell into an 8-month depression taking a step back from his work and fans.
