Johns Island man arrested following shooting in Berkeley County


BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — The Berkeley County Sherriff’s Office arrested the person who they say is responsible for a shooting Saturday, September 17.

Elijah Jai Junior, 20, of Johns Island is charged with discharging firearm into vehicle, aircraft, etc. while occupied; Unlawful carrying of pistol; and possession of a weapon during violent crime.

On Saturday, authorities responded near the intersection of Princeton Road and Rosedale Avenue in unincorporated Goose Creek in reference to a shooting.

We’re told Junior was arrested after videos, witness accounts, and physical evidence pointed to him as the trigger man.

He is currently being held at the Hill Finklea Detention Center on a $20,000 surety bond.
