CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Reading Partners South Carolina is seeking to recruit volunteers to help students achieve reading success in this new school year. The literacy nonprofit provides volunteer-led, one-on-one literacy tutoring to more than 700 elementary school students in 16 Title I schools across South Carolina.
An estimated 150 Reading Partners’ volunteers, staff and community leaders are set to attend the ‘Commit to the Next Chapter’ breakfast at The Harbour Club on Tuesday. The sold out event will strategize volunteer recruitment plans, as well as stir excitement for the school year.
In the upcoming school year, Reading Partners South Carolina plans to serve 725 struggling readers at 16 elementary schools in Charleston, Berkeley, and Florence counties, with the help of at least 800 community volunteers.CLICK HERE to volunteer.
